Patter Fam Sauces

Coffee Ice Cream 

(makes 1 Qt) 

2 cups heavy cream 

2/3 cup sugar 

1 cup whole milk 

2 tsp. vanilla extract 

1 cup strong chilled coffee 


In a large bowl whisk the heavy cream and sugar until the sugar is dissolved and the mix is frothy.  Add milk, vanilla and coffee.  Whisk until blended.  Cover and chill for 1 hour .  Place in the ice cream maker and churn.  Place in a quart sized square Rubbermaid container.  When frozen solid, quickly dip the bottom of the container in hot water to loosen the ice cream from the container.  Place a plate on top of the container and invert to release the ice cream.  Refreeze if needed, but cut into square slices about 1/2” thick.  Place on one slice of the pound cake, sandwich the next piece of pound cake on top and drizzle with Coffee Syrup, Kahlua or other coffee liquor.
